Limited Parts & Labor Warranty
Extends the customer's warranty on repaired parts to 3 years / 36,000 miles from the invoice date or odometer reading — whichever comes first. Wear items are excluded. Coverage applies to both Customer Pay and Warranty Repair Orders.
No Charge to the Customer
This benefit is provided to every service customer at no additional cost. The program is funded entirely by the dealership as part of its reinsurance strategy — customers receive extended coverage automatically.
Automatic Disclosure on Every RO
No customer signature is required. The warranty disclosure language is printed directly on every customer Repair Order, ensuring full transparency and seamless delivery of the benefit at the point of service.
Broad RO Coverage
All Customer Pay and Warranty Repair Orders are eligible — including both parts and labor. Internal repair orders are excluded. Coverage applies regardless of make or model.
Claims Funded by Reinsurance
The dealership's factory warranty (12 months / 12,000 miles) covers early claims. The reinsurance company funds claims that arise after 12 months or 12,000 miles — and up to the full 36-month / 36,000-mile coverage period.
Dealership-Owned Reinsurance
4–6% of eligible RO sales are invoiced monthly to fund the reinsurance company. Reserves accumulate, earn investment returns, and are owned by the dealership principal — creating a long-term wealth-building asset.
Service Drive Advertising
Dealerships are encouraged to promote this benefit throughout the Service Drive and across the dealership. The 3-year / 36,000-mile warranty is a powerful customer retention and loyalty tool that sets the store apart from competitors.
How the Program Works — Step by Step
1
ROs Are Captured
Repair Order data is captured via DMS integration or from the dealer's factory financial statement each month.
2
Monthly Invoice
The dealer is invoiced 4–6% of eligible CP & Warranty RO sales. These funds flow into the dealer-owned reinsurance company.
3
Reserves Build & Grow
Reserves accumulate and earn investment income over time. The reinsurance company becomes a valuable long-term asset for the dealer principal.
4
Claims Are Paid
When a customer returns after 12 mo / 12K miles with a covered repair, the dealer submits the claim to Ethos Group and the reinsurance company reimburses the store.
